I am very sad to see David Tennant Dr. Who, but the end of time was the best of all Dr. Who i have seen since. and i have to say at the end, i think i am ok with it. “I don’t want to go” I almost tiered up. Ok, i did, but just a bit.

Google …. WAVE to the Future

Google WAVE is in my opinion the absolute future of of group communication and collaboration, perhaps even the future of web communication as a whole.  I know i will be among the first to adopt this innovative creation as part of my daily life.

Just Got a Blackberry Storm

Well i have had my new baby for just under three hours now and preliminary results suggest i am going to love it.

FSRTC Late night.

Its 12:03 and those of us in the overnight competitions are still going strong. Transportation is taking wing and Communications are going Green. I can look forward to an hour or two of sleep on a carpeted concrete slab making 3-4 hours in the last 48. But that is half the fun of TECA.  it may not sound like it, but it is a blast being here till the not so wee hours of the morning with a bunch of great people. well time to get back to work!

Completely Geeking Out Here!!

Haven't had much time for Computer tinkering lately, but Thursday I am making Time. I will be at the local WalMart (or Best Buy if they have a Midnight Release) at midnight Tomorrow night waiting for the release of Windows 7!!! I am Completely Geeking Out Here!! for the last two weeks I have been using the 90 day trial of 7 Enterprise on my 4 year old made for Vista eMachines W3503 (Made for Vista my ass! max memory at 2 gigs and single core [Granted it is 3.33gHz] vista runs as fast a mollasses on a cold day. after a week i downgraded to MCE 2005) It runs better that XP MCE 2005 did and it only has 1.5 gigs of ram!!! I can not wait to try it on my HP TX2510us at 64bit and as much ram as i can stuff in to it!!!

Mac OSX 10.5.2 on a Balance Digital PC

Starting off about 3 years ago I bought a new top-of-the-line (at the time) emachines PC. So that meant I cannibalized my old PC.  I put it in the closet and promptly forgot about it.

After my last final I was lounging around the student center and I found osX86's web page, and I was hooked.  the result

This is my Mac OSX 10.5.2 running on my old balance PC. 

 

After extensive use of Insanelymac's forms I was able to get it up and running.  the only complaints I have is that I haven't found the right kext's (Mac Drivers) for the graphics cards and the LAN. So the Internet is a bit slow and the monitor doesn't go beyond 1024x768, but that's ok because the monitor I have hooked up doesn't ether.  In the end when I can get the money I am going to get a real Mac, but this will do for now. 

 

Update

I bought a cheep $20 nVidia GeForce FX 5200 and got the monitor working at all supported resolutions.  Now i just have to figure out how to get quartz Extreme working.
